Privacy policy.
What we collect, why, who helps us run Authyr, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Authyr is operated by Frequentor LLC d/b/a Authyr (“Authyr,” “we,” “us”). Mailing address: 1710 Keller Pkwy #1066, Keller, TX 76248. Email faisel@authyr.com or call (346) 220-4965.
This policy covers authyr.com, app.authyr.com, the review pages customers reach from a business’s QR stand or a review request, and the text messages and emails we send.
2. What Authyr does
Authyr helps local businesses collect reviews tied to a recorded visit. A customer scans a business’s QR stand or follows a review request, and leaves a review. A rough review reaches the business privately first, with up to 30 days to make it right before it is published. Published reviews come with a signed receipt anyone can check.
3. Information we collect
If you own or run a business on Authyr
- Your email address (used to sign in) and your name.
- Your business name, industry and public page address.
- Billing details, which are handled by Stripe. We don’t receive or store your card number.
- Messages you send to customers in a private window.
If you leave a review
- Your star rating, what you write, and any messages you exchange with the business in the private window.
- A record of the visit, identified by an anonymous code rather than your name, email or phone number.
- If you allow your phone to share its location when you scan a stand, we measure how far you are from the business and keep only that distance. We don’t keep your coordinates.
- To prevent abuse, we keep a scrambled (salted and hashed) version of your IP address that can’t be linked across businesses or days. We don’t keep your raw IP address.
- A browser cookie that lets the same device come back to its review instead of starting a second one.
If a business sends you a review request
The business enters your email address or mobile number, and Authyr uses it to send that one request. We don’t store that email address or phone number. So the business can see whom it has asked, and is warned before asking the same person twice, we keep only the last four digits of the number (or the first letter and domain of the email) and a one-way fingerprint made with a secret key. Neither can be used to text or email you again.
If you pay a business that connects its payment system
Some businesses connect their payment system (today, Square) to Authyr with read-only access. When a payment is completed, Authyr receives its amount, time and payment reference, and records the visit. We never receive or store your card number. We keep one-way fingerprints, made with a secret key, of the card’s last four digits and of the receipt email if the payment has one, so that you can choose to link your review to your payment. When you do, what you type is compared with those fingerprints and not stored.
If you fill in a form
- Founding applications, business claim requests and messages to the founder: your name, business, email, phone number (if you give it) and message. We keep these to follow up with you.
- Dispute-cost estimates: we use your email to send the estimate you asked for, and we are notified that you requested it.
- Resolution requests about a business: your name, email and what happened are sent to our team so we can follow up.
Collected automatically
- Analytics about how our sites are used, such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location based on IP address, and the link or ad that brought you. We use PostHog and Google Analytics, which set cookies or use local storage. We may also use advertising measurement tools, such as the Meta pixel, to learn whether our ads led to sign-ups.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting providers.
Public business information
Business profiles may include information from public records, such as state license listings.
4. How we use information
- To run Authyr: record visits, collect and display reviews, run the private window, and create signed receipts.
- To send the emails and texts the service depends on, such as review requests, sign-in codes, alerts to business owners, and weekly summaries.
- To keep the service safe, including rate limits, bot checks and abuse prevention.
- To handle subscriptions and billing.
- To understand and improve our sites, and to measure our advertising.
- To follow the law and respond to lawful requests.
5. Reviews and the permanent record
When a review is sealed, the review and its signed receipt become part of a permanent record, so anyone can check that it hasn’t been changed. Receipts don’t contain your name, email or phone number. If you revise a rough review during the private window, the record shows both the original and the update. We can stop displaying a review when the law requires it, such as under a court order.
6. How we share information
- With the business you reviewed: it sees your review and the messages in its private window.
- Publicly: sealed reviews and their receipts can appear on the business’s Authyr page, its website badge and verification pages.
- With service providers who run parts of Authyr for us, under their own security and confidentiality commitments:
- Amazon Web Services (hosting, data storage, sign-in, email)
- Netlify (website hosting)
- Stripe (payments)
- Twilio (text messages)
- PostHog and Google (analytics)
- Meta (advertising measurement — whether an ad led to a sign-up)
- Anthropic, when a business owner uses AuthyrAgent to draft a reply (the review text and business name are sent to generate the draft)
- Cloudflare (bot checks)
- Cal.com, if a business connects its bookings
- For legal reasons to comply with law, legal process or a valid government request, or to protect rights and safety.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of assets.
We don’t sell personal information.
7. Text messages (SMS)
If a business asks whether Authyr may text you a link to review your visit, and you agree, Authyr sends you one text message with that link on the business’s behalf. Message frequency: one message per request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We share phone numbers only with the provider that delivers the message (Twilio), and only to deliver it.
Full program terms are in our Terms of Service.
8. Cookies and your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features, such as staying signed in, need them.
- Browser extensions that block analytics or advertising scripts also work on our sites.
- To stop text messages, reply STOP. Account and service emails are part of using Authyr; a business owner can close their account at any time.
9. How long we keep information
- Business accounts: while the account is open, and afterwards as needed for billing, legal and security purposes.
- Form submissions: as long as needed to follow up.
- Contact details entered for a review request: the number or email address itself is not stored. The last four digits (or the email’s first letter and domain) and a one-way fingerprint are kept with the business’s request history.
- Sealed reviews and receipts: permanently, as part of the record described above.
- Analytics: according to our analytics providers’ retention settings.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and signed, tamper-evident records. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
11. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing faisel@authyr.com. Depending on where you live, including Texas and California, you may have additional rights under state law. We won’t discriminate against you for using them. Sealed reviews and receipts are kept as part of the permanent record, except where the law requires removal.
12. Children
Authyr isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll give notice on our sites or by email.
